Faculty and staff versus ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Women’s Hockey fundraising game

On November 29 at 2 pm, the campus community is invited to MacLauchlan Arena (Rink A) at the Bell Aliant Centre to watch the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Women's Hockey team take on a team of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ faculty and staff. Come cheer on your fellow student-athletes and/or colleagues in what is sure to be an entertaining game. Admission is free. However, "admission by donation" is encouraged to support the Panther Women's Hockey program. Last year's game was a nail-biter, with the staff clinching the win in overtime. Both teams are excited for another thrilling matchup this year.

ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ pivotal in preparing business graduate for entrepreneurship

Entrepreneur Sarra Jayasinghe graduated from ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ in 2021 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. Before entering the business program, she spent two and a half years studying bioresources engineering in the University’s sustainable design engineering program. For the past three years, she has been the sole proprietor of Ricci Cannabis, which produces cannabis-infused and non-alcoholic wine beverages.

Every week, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Panther Athletes of the Week for November 4–10, 2024, are Kaiya Maracle (women’s hockey) and Bobby Orr (men’s hockey).

AT HOME:
6:00 pm: The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Women’s Basketball Panthers host the Saint Mary’s University Huskies at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.

2024 Pitch Battles

The Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship is pleased to present the inaugural round of Pitch Battles! Eleven teams made up of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ and Holland College Students from 14 different programs will pitch food-sector-related business ideas they developed over eight days to a panel of judges for a chance at winning the $1,000 top prize!

CCCE Speaker Series: How to Create a Food Product

Ever wondered what it takes to get a food product on the shelves of a grocery store? Michael Good with Food Island Partnership will be coming to the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship to discuss what it takes and what organizations exist in PEI to help entrepreneurs throughout the process!

The session takes place on Wednesday, November 13 at 12:00-1:00PM in the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship, 201 Robertson Library.

ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Wind Symphony: Wind, Sand and Stars

On November 28, the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dale Sorensen with guest conductor Nicole Strum, will present a concert of music inspired by nature. The program will include an arrangement of Bedrich Smetana’s Vltava (The Moldau), a symphonic poem depicting Bohemia’s great Vltava river, alongside works by Canadian composers John Herberman (The Fisher Who Died in His Bed), Nova Pon (Tilting Sunward), Dana Reason (Currents), and Barbara York (River of Stars).

ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Faculty of Nursing receives 2024 Golisano Health Leadership Award

Special Olympics Prince Edward Island has chosen the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Faculty of Nursing to receive a 2024 Golisano Health Leadership Award in recognition of the faculty’s ongoing collaboration and contributions to the Healthy Communities initiative on PEI. Dr. Patrice Drake, acting dean, along with several faculty members, accepted the award at a celebration on November 7 at the Florence Simmonds Performance Hall at Holland College’s Charlottetown Campus.
