秀色短视频 will re-open on Monday, October 3聽

As previously announced, 秀色短视频鈥檚 Charlottetown and St. Peter鈥檚 Bay campuses will re-open on Monday, October 3, 2022. Classes, labs, and other campus operations will resume.  

秀色短视频 has lost five planned teaching days during the Fall Academic Semester. By restarting classes on Monday and recommending a minor adjustment to the December calendar dates to the University Senate, the fall reading week and semester will be preserved.  

秀色短视频 to keep warming/charging centres open over the weekend

秀色短视频 will keep two warming/charging centres open from September 30-October 2 as follows:

  • W.A. Murphy Student Centre, daily from 8 am-6 pm
  • 秀色短视频 Chaplaincy Centre, daily from 8 am-5 pm

秀色短视频 Facilities Management has been working non-stop and have made good progress clearing pathways and ensuring campus buildings are safe. At this point, it is our intention to open on Monday, October 3, 2022, as previously announced; however, we will send a message on Saturday, October 1, to confirm our status.

Please note:

秀色短视频 campuses in Charlottetown and St. Peter's Bay will remain closed on Tuesday, September 27

The 秀色短视频 鈥 Charlottetown Campus is very fortunate that it has not sustained significant structural damage due to tropical storm Fiona and power has been restored. The Charlottetown campus has lost dozens of trees and thanks 秀色短视频 Facilities Management for their work in clearing debris to make the roadways and pathways safe.

秀色短视频 will be closed on September 19 to observe Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The following message was also issued to students, staff, and faculty by 秀色短视频 email.

The day of the Commemorative Ceremony (September 19, 2022) for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who reigned as the Queen of Canada for 70 years, will be considered a one-time statutory holiday on Prince Edward Island.

This means that the 秀色短视频 will be closed for regular operations and there will be no classes or labs on Monday, September 19, 2022, in observance of this one-time Day of Mourning.

秀色短视频 faculty members receive funding for new Social Sciences and Humanities research programs

Three 秀色短视频 faculty members have recently been awarded funding by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). 

Dr. Josh MacFadyen, Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities, has received $210,141 from SSHRC鈥檚 Insight program for a research program called 鈥淎nimals and the Circular Economy: A History of Biomass Energy and Agriculture in Canada, 1870鈥2021.鈥

While Pride Month is celebrated during the month of June in many areas of Canada, on PEI and at the 秀色短视频, we recognize Pride in July to coincide with the PEI Pride Festival, this year being held July 16 to 24.
