As previously announced, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Charlottetown and St. Peter’s Bay campuses will re-open on Monday, October 3, 2022. Classes, labs, and other campus operations will resume.

ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has lost five planned teaching days during the Fall Academic Semester. By restarting classes on Monday and recommending a minor adjustment to the December calendar dates to the University Senate, the fall reading week and semester will be preserved.

We realize that members of our campus community continue to experience hardship in the aftermath of Fiona. Everyone’s continued patience and flexibility to accommodate these individual circumstances is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks to Facilities Management, Security Services, Residence Services and the many others who have continued to work to provide essential services and ensure the campus is safe.

ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has two warming/charging centres open over the weekend as follows:

  • W.A. Murphy Student Centre, daily from 8 am–6 pm
  • ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Chaplaincy Centre, daily from 8 am–5 pm

The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ women’s and men’s soccer teams will resume AUS regular schedule play on Sunday, October 2, at 1:00 pm and 3:15 pm respectively, on the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Artificial Turf Field. The ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Soccer Panthers will face the UNB Varsity Reds, who are travelling over in the morning and returning back to Fredericton after the games. Go Panthers Go!

Please note that over the weekend:

  • ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Security Services is operating 24-7.
  • Services for students in residence continue to operate.
  • In addition to serving students with meal plans, the Wanda Wyatt Dining Hall is open to students who wish to purchase meals.
  • AVC Veterinary Teaching Hospital will remain open for emergencies. AVC Diagnostic Services will continue to provide essential animal health support.
  • Robertson Library and ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre will be closed.

We recognize how this situation is stressful. Please remember that ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has a number of supports for students through ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Student Affairs, including personal counselling (studentserv@upei.ca), Accessibility Services (studentserv@upei.ca), and the International Student Office (irostu@upei.ca). Eligible employees can access the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-387-4765. We encourage you to reach out for support. For further updates, monitor local media, social media, and the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ SAFE app for updates (download from the App Store or Google play).
