Please join the Department of Psychology for our February colloquium in the 2012-13 Fiona Papps Colloquium Series Friday, February 8, 3:00-4:00 pm in Memorial Hall 215. Dr. Stacey MacKinnon will present: "I Forgive You: What it means depends on what you did and why you did it." A reception will follow in the Department of Psychology lounge, Memorial Hall, at 4:00 pm.
We've planned two, half days over the break to introduce you to some of the possibilities. Faculty from around campus have been invited to show you what they are doing online. There will also be support staff to give you a sense of what services you can use to help you get started. The sessions will take place from 1:00-4:30 pm on February 19 and 9:00 am- 12:30 pm on the morning of February 20. The workshops will be held in McDougall Hall 328 with light refreshments provided. There is no cost for the sessions, but faculty are invited to register with the Centre for Life-Long Learning via email Lisa Mackinnon-Laybolt at: lmmackinnon@upei.ca We also want to make it clear that the session is divided in two parts and are both meant to be attended. Now it’s time to bring others into the paradigm of using cases – student-centered stories, educational messages, problems, real world messages, dilemmas – to engage students so they connect new knowledge to old, hone their decision-making skills, and acknowledge other perspectives. The size and scope of research projects at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has grown over the years. Sponsor requirements often make the task of administering a grant or contract complex and confusing. Besides these issues, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ has its own set of policies and procedures that need to be followed. Successful project administration and management is important to all the involved parties. If you are involved in administering a grant or contract (faculty or staff) and would like to discuss research project management, Dr. Robert Gilmour, vice-president of research, invites you to join him and the Research Services staff for lunch and a discussion about what you need as administrators in the way of information, training, and support. The first 50 ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ employees to sign up for one of the following sessions will receive a $100 subsidy towards the 6-week session cost. Employee’s can pre-register for the remaining sessions for this budget year by completing the client information form and Par-Q found at . Please send the forms to Angela Marchbank, Fitness & Wellness Coordinator at amarchbank@upei.ca. Please note this program is for access to only the small-group training program provided by ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Athletics & Recreation. As well, each year we have 50 grants to give out. This 10-minute survey explores usage, satisfaction, and challenges with using digital course materials available through access codes.
