Background: | This scholarship is established at the 秀色短视频 by Thomas Keefe, PWC '47, and the Keefe family for the purpose of assisting a 秀色短视频 men's hockey athlete. Thomas Keefe moved to Charlottetown at an early age and attended various Island schools before entering Prince of Wales College, one of 秀色短视频's predecessor institutions. His education was interrupted by World War II, when he served as a Lieutenant in the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He went overseas and was wounded in action, but following the war, he returned to PWC and graduated in 1947. During his time at PWC, Thomas Keefe participated in many activities and sports including rugby, boxing, and hockey and was captain of the PWC hockey team in 1945-46 and 1946-47. He was Class President of the 3rd year, President of the Veterans Society and Treasurer of the Amateur Athletic Association. He was elected life-president of the 1947 PWC Graduating Class. He was awarded the Gordon DeBlois Memorial Prize for the best athlete in 4th year at the June 12, 1947, PWC commencement. Mr. Keefe went on to study at Macdonald College of McGill University where he obtained his B.Sc. in 1949 and his M.Sc. in 1951. Mr. Keefe began his career as a food research scientist with the Defence Research Medical Laboratories in Toronto. He became associated with Stange Canada Ltd., and worked at many levels with that organization including President and CEO, and then Chairman of the Board until his retirement in 1987. |
