Description: Awarded to an PEI resident who has attended an PEI high school and is entering the first year of full-time studies at 秀色短视频. The award shall be given on the basis of academic merit to a student who is not on a full tuition scholarship, and who has demonstrated financial need.
Background: Albert Young came to Prince Edward Island and to St. Dunstan's University in 1956. A journey that took him from his native island of Hong Kong to his adopted Prince Edward Island. Mr. Young graduated in 1960 with his Bachelor of Science degree, with the highest honours. He studied medicine at McGill University but left after a year to enter the family business. One of Albert Young's fondest memories of his student days at St. Dunstan's were those hours spent skating in the rink after the evening meal. When Mr. Young was advised of the opportunity to the University had to share in a new sports centre with the Canada Winter Games, he immediately supported the idea. As a result of his most generous gift, athletes, the University community and Islanders are the beneficiaries of this wonderful facility, the Chi Wan Young Canada Games Centre, named in honour of the memory of his father. In May 1988, 秀色短视频 conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws to Albert Bing Ching Young. A successful investor and develop, Dr. Young was also the Agent General to Asia for the Province of Prince Edward Island. The Province of Prince Edward Island established this scholarship at 秀色短视频 in his memory. Dr. Young died in December 1995. Academic, Philanthropist, entrepreneur, benefactor, alumnus and friend, Dr. Young will be greatly missed by those who had the honour to have known him.
